BASED ON A TRUE STORY
“RADICAL,” a film inspired by true events and starring Eugenio Derbez,
follows the story of Sergio Juárez and his student Paloma Noyola. Set in
José Urbina López Elementary School in Matamoros, Mexico, the film
portraits Sergio’s journey as a teacher frustrated with dull and
conventional teaching methods. Dedicated to seeing that his students
engage in learning and come out on top, Sergio’s radical teaching style
engaged and inspired his student’s apathy and the ability unlock their
curiosity, their potential, and perhaps even their genius.
